Beauty on Barry's Bay
Here I took two of her favorite things, a photo that I snapped as the sun was setting on this balmy August night in 2021 and her summertime activity of choice.
Canary Canoe
A Canadiana theme was used for this office space that required just a slight touch of yellow and teal.

The Rebirth

I took this photo while on a road trip through the Alberta Ice Fields in the summer of 2021. I tried to capture the spectacular beauty of the forest bringing new life and vantage points. This inspired my piece above called

Sanitarium Float

This room needed an injection of colour and simplistic subject matter as it would be viewed from a distance. Here the owner wanted their view from the cottage interpreted with a bit of humor to match their personality and the feel they wanted in the space.

Sandy's Secret

The request for this commissioned piece was to paint a place that is special to my client. I took this photo for inspiration when we reached it by kayak under a metal bridge overpass. Once you have passed through to the other side, it feels like you have just floated into a mystical secret hideaway. Obviously enjoyed previously by the evidence of this forgotten boathouse. I tried to capture the feeling and incorporated colours to match the space for which it hangs today.

The Hug
While celebrating a friend’s birthday in Niagara-on-the-Lake, we wandered to the enchanting Colaneri Winery, a must-see my friend couldn’t let us pass by. As we drove up, the welcoming curve of the building felt like a warm embrace—“The Hug.” A chance meeting with owner Betty Colaneri and her beautiful sunset photo inspired me to capture that feeling in my painting.
